Le Roy. Dec 31 - The spacious homestead
of Mrs. Harriet R. L. Bissell at
No 36 West Main street was the scene
of a quiet but pretty wedding at noon
.today,'when Mrs. Bissell's niece. Miss
Sarah Harriet Bissell, was united in mar-
riage to John Rochester Stevens of this
village. Only the immediate relatives of
the contracting parties witnessed the
ceremony, which was performed by the
Rev. Pierre Gushing, rector of St. Mark's
Episcopal church, the Episcopal double
ring service being used.
The bride wore a becoming gown of
brocaded marquesette over white satin
and was unattended, being given in marriage
by, her aunt, Mrs. Bissell. * The
groom was attended by his brother, Carl
L. Stevens. The, house was prettily decorated,
the color .scheme being pink and
white, carried out by a produsion of cut
flowers. Immediately after the cere-
money a luncheon was served. Follow-
ing a brief trip, Mr. and Mrs. Stevens
will make their home at No. 36 West
Main street.
The bride is highly esteemed and is
especially well-known in Eastern Star
circles. For 16 years she has made her
home with her aunt. Mr. Stevens has
been in Mrs. Bissell's employ as manager
of the estate for a number of years. Both
have the best wishes of a large circle of
friends.
