Michael J. Popowich passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 after a 17-year courageous battle with multiple myeloma in Newark, DE. Mike was born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 14, 1940.
He graduated from Alfred University and in 1966 earned a Master's Degree in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University. Mike had a long and successful career working at DuPont. He retired in 2001, giving him more time to devote to his passions, his grandchildren, golf, traveling and fine wine.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna (Piroski) Popowich; brothers, Stephen and William; sisters, Mary, Estelle Lis and Anne Johnson. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lynn (Adamczyk); sons, Eric (Kristen) of Arlington, VA, David (Amina) and Jeffrey (Laura) of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandra, Anna, and Matthew (his best buddy) Popowich whom he loved dearly.
