Funeral services were conducted
Monday afternoon for
Ralph Philo Blodgett, 65, of
Newell Road, Sheridan, who
died last Thursday (March 26,
1959) in Buffalo General Hospital
of injuries suffered March
17 in an accident while working
at the Allegheny Ludlum Steel
Corp. plant, Dunkirk.
Rites were in the Gardinier
Funeral Home with the Rev.
Delbert E. Jolley, pastor of the
First Methodist Church, of Fredonia,
officiating. Burial was in
Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Blodgett, a native of
Fredonia, .suffered .a .fractured
neck and skull -and
chest injuries when he was
pinned against a wall by a
furnace car. He was an assistant
electrician at the plant
and also operated a farm.
He was a member of the^ First
Methodist Church, of Fredonia
Grange 1 and the Chautauqua
County Farm Bureau. He was
also a trustee of S h e r i d an
School District 7.
' Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Mabel B. Blodgett; two sons
John A Blodgett of New York
City and Donald E. Blodgett of
Lorain, O.; two sisters, Miss
Helen M. Blodgett of Dover,
N. J., and Mrs. Gertrude L.
Smith of Lamberton, and two
brothers, Maurice D. Blodgett
of Brocton and Wesley C. Blodgett
of Washington Grove, Md.
