A doube-ring ceremony was solemnized
Monday at the home of
the Dr. John R. Oraf, minister of
Second Presbyterian Church, when
Miss Josephine Boots, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John W. Boots of 434
Vine St., and Walter Lewis Maines,
seaman 1 c son of Mr. and Mis.
Floyd Maines of Route 3, Gasport
were united in marriage.
The bride wore a pale pink gown
of chiffon, fashioned in princess
style. Her shoulder-length veil was
caught to a halo and she wore pink
lace mitts and carried a Colonial
bouquet of pink roses, large white
chrysanthemums and yellow button
chrysanthemum, tied with pink
ribbon. She wore a cameo necklace,
a gift of the groom brought from
Italy.
Maid Wears Blue
The maid of honor, Miss Ruth
Margaret Malnes. sister of the
groom wore a blue net gown with
halo headdress and veil and blue
mitts. She carried pink roses and
white and yellow chrysanthemums
tied with white ribbon. Allen Childs
was best man.
Mrs. Boots, mother of the bride,
and Mrs. Maines, mother of the
bridegroom. both wore flowered
jersey dresses with corsages of pink
roses and white chrysanthemums
tied With pink.
Following the ceremony, a wedding
dinner was served at the
home of the bride's parents, to
members of the bridal party and
Immediate families. Twenty-four
were seated at the bride's table
decorated with a four-tiered wedding
cake topped by a miniature
bride and groom, and bridal party
bouquets.
Reception teHaws
A reception to relatives and
friends was held from 8 until 11
o'clock. Seaman and Mrs. Malnes
left for a short wedding trip, after
which the groom will return to duty
In Brooklyn and the brfde will make
her home wit her parents until
his discharge. The brides travel-
tag costume was an aqua blue suit
with black accessories and a corsage
of red rosea and white button
chrysanthemums, tied with white.
Among pre-nuptlal entertainments
for the bride was a personal
shower siren by her sister and
aunt, Mrs. Edna Sanney and Mrs.
Merle Melsher ot Pennsylvania
Avenue.
