The marriage of Miss Helena
Bluhm. of Packard Toad. Town of
Niagara, to Corporal Arthur W.
Brown, of this city, was solemnized
August 29 at the Fifth Regimental
chapel at Fort McClellan.
Chaplain Lester Houghtaling per-
formed the ceremony before an altar
beautified with floral decorations
and sparkling candles and one of
the army friends of the bridegroom
furnished the nuptial music. The
corporal is assigned to duty with
Co D 12th Battalion, of the Fourth
Regiment.
The bride was given in marriage
by First Sergeant Kuhn at 4:30 p.
m., with.a full ceremony. The wed-
ding party was driven from Anniston
to Fort McClellan in the car of the
mayor of Anniston, Alabama.
Miss Bluhm was attired in a white
slipper satin gown wearing a long
veil of illusion edged with Vene-
tian lace that was held in place
with a band of small pearls. She car-
ried a shepherd's crook bouquet of
white gladioli, tied with white satin
ribbon. Her maid of honor was Mrs.
Elizabeth McKnight, of Pittsburgh,
Pa. She wore for the occasion a dress
of heavenly blue taffeta and carried
a bouquet of pink roses.
Private Ronald W. McNight was
the best man. After the ceremony a
salute of 14 guns was heard as the
couple left the chapel and filed
through the cadre at pon arms.
A dinner party was held in An-
niston in the evening. The table was
centered with a three-tier wedding
cake topped with the figure of a
bride and soldier in uniform..
Present for the ceremony were
Mrs. Emma Bluhm, mother of the
bride, Mrs. Lambert Drewry and Ro-
land Drewry, of Warsaw, N.Y.
Pre-nuptials included a group
shower held at the Samovar, in this
city, by the Swan employees and a
dinner by out-of-town friends in
Buffalo.
