- Kenneth G. Masters, age 93 of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on June 3, 2018. The son of the late John and Sarah Masters, he was raised in Ransomville, New York.
As a World War II veteran, he served at the White House and then in combat with the Army 78th division in Germany. He was awarded many medals for his bravery including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
In 1948 he married Lois Smith and they made their home in Lewiston, New York, for many years. Kenny worked for the New York State Power Authority until his retirement. He was the first Police Chief of the Lewiston Police Department, Lewiston Volunteer Fire Deptartment, Blue Nights, VFW and honorary member of the Clark County Fire Department in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Jeff) Ortman, Cindy (Ed) McConnell; along with his grandchildren, Perry, Nathan, Erin and Jason; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois; son, Kenneth Masters, Jr.; two brothers and five sisters.
Burial services will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date.
