Miss Lorraine Grace Moore and Eugene Peeples Long
were united in marriage at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at
Newfane Methodist Church. Palms and baskets of red and
white gladioli banked the altar for the ceremony performed
by the Rev. R. Robert Ismay. The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Grace Moore of Burt, and the bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. DeLacy Long Sr. of Estill, S. C.
The bride given in marriage by
her uncle, Burt Bobzien, was attired
in a gown of white nylon
tulle over slipper satin with a rosepoint
lace bodice, sleeves and collar
and forming the long train.
Her fingertip veil of nylon net fell
from a crown of seed pearls and
rosepoint lace and she carried
white roses with ivy
Miss Elaine Long of Estill, was
maid of honor in a gown of white
nylon net over satin with a lace
jacket and peplum. Her headpiece
was of red roses with a
small veil and she carried a bouquet
of red happiness roses tied
with white satin ribbon.
The bridesmaids, wearing identical
ensembles, were Miss Shirley
Livermore of Bernardston,
Mass., Miss Norma Bruning of Oicott
and Mrs. Frances Moore of
Burt. Their bouquets and headpieces
also were of red roses.
Vickey Ann Forsyth of Burt was
flower girl. Her gown of white
nylon net was fashioned with a
lace bodice and peplum, Peter Pan
Collar and puffed sleeves. Her
headpiece was similar to the other
attendants' and she carried a
basket of red happiness roses.
Donald Moore Jr., also of Burt,
was the ring bearer.
Mr. Long attended his son as
best man. Ushers were Donald
Moore, Edwin Stolzenberg and
Wayne Bobzien, all of Burt.
Miss Lyla Beth Brown of Newfane
was soloist and Mrs. Mabel
Bigalow, organist, presented a pro
gram of appropriate music.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs.
Moore selected a dress of Paris
blue crepe with lace inserts, old
rose accessories and a corsage of
pink roses. The mother of the
groom chose powder blue lace over
taffeta, black accessories and a
corsage of red roses.
A wedding reception to 200 was
held at the American Legion Hall
in Newfane, which was decorated
with red and white gladioli, wedding
bells and streamers. There
were 22 seated at the bride's table,
laid with a white linen cloth and
centered by an arrangement of
red roses. Bells and white candles
in silver holders completed
the table decorations. Jackie Diel's
orchestra provided music for dancing.
When the couple left for a wedding
trip South, the bride was
wearing a navy linen suit trimmed
white and navy accessories. An
orchid corsage completed her ensemble.
The couple will make
their home at 1017 Laurens St
Columbia, S. C.
Out-of-town guests were from
Syracuse, Canada, Massachusetts,
Estill, and South Haven, Mich.
The bride is a graduate of Newfane
Central School. The groom
was graduated from Estill High
School and is now a senior in pharmacy
at the University of South
Carolina
