A pretty wedding was solemnized
on Saturday, October 20, at
7 p. m. in Salem Evangelical and
Reformed Church, when Miss
Veronica Bodie, daughter of Mrs.
Veronica Bodie, Douglas street,
became the bride of Pfc. George
P. Goff, United States Marine
Corps, of Buffalo, stationed at
Quantico, Virginia. Rev. Walter
Hetzel performed the double ring
ceremony before the altar which
was banked with gladioli and
palms. Miss Marge Heft sang "Because"
and "Always".
The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, Sidney, wore a
gown of candlelight satin, combining
a tight bodice with sweet-
heart neckline and long fitted
sleeves, and hoop skirt, edged with
wide lace, which formed a long
train. Her fingertip veil fell from
a seed pearl cap, and she carried
a shower bouquet of white roses
and white carnations.
Miss Dorothy Opera, maid-of
honor, wore a gown of blue, with
satin bodice and full net skirt
and a large picture hat to match.
The bridesmaids, the Misses Eve'
line Hatt, Miss Irene Schiepatti,
of Niagara Falls, and Margaret
Goff, of Buffalo, wore pink satin
and net gowns and matching picture
hats. All carried colonial bouquets
of tea roses and com flowers,
tied with pink and blue
streamers.
Attendants for the groom were
Charles Wagner, bestman; Howard
Sikorski, Richard Freeman
°nd Clarence Utsig, all of Buffalo,
ushers.
The bride's mother wore a soldier
blue crepe with matching
hat while the groom's mother
chose a powder blue dress with
black accessories. They wore corsages
of roses and cornflowers.
A reception for 200 guests was
given at Hungarian Hall. Buffet
refreshments were served from
a table centered'with a wedding
cake, decorated with a miniature
Marine and bride.
The groom has reported to his
base in Virginia. Mrs. Goff U
temporarily making her home
with her mother.
Prenuptial parties for Mrs. Goff
were given by Miss Dorothy Opera
and Miss Hatt, Mrs. K. Chase
and Mrs. J. Carney; Mrs. J. Bodie,
Mrs. V. Bodie, and Mrs. G. Bernasconl
and Miss C. Vossen.
