David P. Sodano

LOCKPORT — David P. Sodano of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.
He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 3, 1932, a son of the late Lawrence and Mabel (Perry) Sodano.
Mr. Sodano attended local schools and served with the Army National Guard. He started his cabinet makers apprenticeship at Haeberle Lumber Company in the 1950s, and later became the owner of Sodano Cabinet, where he built and refinished fine furniture. Mr. Sodano loved Trout fishing and his cabinet work.
He was the husband of the late Barbara (Bacola) Sodano and Mary "Lorraine" (Aube) Sodano.
Mr. Sodano is survived by his longtime companion, Ruthea Miller; three sons, Christopher L. (Donna) Sodano of Tonawanda, NY, David P. (Caryl) Sodano of Lewiston, NY, and Mark J. (Candy) Sodano of Boston, MA; two daughters, Michele D. Vaccarello of Lewiston, NY and Mary Theresa Duval of Allentown, PA; one brother, Thomas Sodano of Fort Wayne, IN and one sister, Ellen Glassman of Snyder, NY; Ruthea's children, Deborah (David) Drews and Jennifer (Darrell) Coffield. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Sodano.
The family will be present on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Stewart Lindsay, OSFS, officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society. Interment with military honors in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
