BOWEN-Mrs. Edith Bowen passed
a w a y suddenly Friday morning,
June 10, 1949, a t her home, 38 Ashl
e y Place. She is survived by three
daughters and three sons, Mrs. Jake
Moran of Lockport, Mrs. Evelyn
Collins of Buffalo. Mrs. Hugh Ryan,
Harold, Clarence, and Robert
Bowen, all of Lockport; ten grandchildren,
also three brothers and
three sisters. Mrs. Mary Selfert,
Mrs. August Pless, William C
Smith, Carl Smith, all of Lockport;
Mrs. Gertrude Stevens of Newfane,
an d Walter Smith of Ransomville.
Friends n a y call at Prudden Funeral
Home, 242 Genesee St., where
funeral services will be held Sunday
afternoon, June 12th, at onethirty.
Burial to Cold Springs
Cemetery.

the mother of Walter C. Bowen who
was killed In action with the Army

Born In Wilson Oct. 7. 1800. Mrs
Bowen was the daughter of Charles
a n d Henrietta Smith. She had lived
most of her life in this city
Surving are three daughters,
Mrs Jake Moran and Mrs. Hugh
Ryan, Lockport and Mrs. Evelyn
Collins, Buffalo; three sons, Harold,
Clarence and Robert Bowen,
Lockport; ten grandchildren; three
brothers, William C. and Carl
Smith, Lockport and Walter Smith,
Ransomvllle and three sisters, Mrs
Mary Seifert and Mrs. August
Pless, Lockport and Mrs. Gertrude
Stevens, Newfane.
Services will be held Sunday at
1:30 at the Prudden Funeral Heme,
242 Oenesee St., the Rev. Marion
L. Moyes, assistant minister of the
First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Cold Spring
Cemetery.
