The Rev. Homer W. Carr, 81,
Burt, former president of the New
York State Conference of Seventh
Day Adventists, died unexpectedly
of a heart attack at 5:45 Thursday
afternoon in his automobile on a
y ^ j s l d e road near Burt.
Mr. Carr, who had been convalescing
at the home of his son,
Dr. Earl B. Carr, in Silver Creek,
after an attack of the grippe, was
returning to his home at Burt with
his wife, Mrs. Maude Carr. Enroute
they visited at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Clapp, Transit
Road, Town of Newfane. Shortly
after leaving there Mr. Carr was
stricken.
While serving as president of the
State Conference of Seventh Day
Adventists, Mr. Carr made his
home at Salamanca. Previous to
that he had been president of the
Northern New England Conference
at Portland, Me. He was elder of
Seventh Day Adventist Churches
at Burt and Lockport for several
years prior to his retirement two
years ago. Since then he and his
wife had traveled considerably in
the South and West.
Besides his wife and son, Mr.
Carr leaves two grandchildren.
