LOCKPORT. Aug. 5-A Wright's
Corners excavating and grading contractor,
Albert S. Bowers. 64. died
today at the City hospital. Mr.
Bowers, who had been In falling
health for over a year, was associated
with his sons. Layton J.,
Robert J. and Wlllard C. Bowers,
under the name of A. S. Bowers and
Sons at Wright's Corners where he
had been In business since 1922.
Born In the Town of Royalton, Mr.
Bowers was a son of John and Mary
Bowers. He spent his early life on
a farm and as a young man operated
a blllard room at Gasport. Later he
entered the trucking business there.
Moving to Wright's Comers, Mr.
Bowers opened a gravel pit. This
business he expanded to excavating
and black topping for which he was
well known throughout the county.
He was a member of St. Mary's
church and the Holy Name society.
Besides the sons, he leaves a
daughter, Mrs. William A. Remington,
this city: two brothers, Nicholas,
6f Gasport, and John, of this city,
and three sisters, Mrs. Theresa
Smoyer. of Tonawanda. Mrs. Elizabeth
McDonald, of Buffalo and Mrs.
Louise Argue, of this city.
Services will be held Saturday at
8:30 a. m. from the Gaul funeral
home and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's
church.
