BARKER, July 2 - A beautiful
wedding was solemnized at 8 o'vlovk
Saturday evening, June 28, at the
Barker Methodut church when Miss
Helen May Bowers, daughter of Mr.
and Mra. Roy Bowers. of Barker,
became the bride of Mr Floyd Ervin
Seward, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lee Seward, of Gssport. The Rev.
Franklin Laundry, pastor, officiated,
assisted by the Rev. Paul Franke.

Mrs. Edward Kaltenborn. of Barker,
played a procram of wedding
music preceding the ceremony and
Clifford Cornish, of Casaedaga. was
the soloist.
The bride, who was given in marriage
by her father, was lovely in
a gown of white slipper satin, made
with a sweetheart neckline, outlined
with seed pearls, and long sleeves
coming to a point over the hands.
She carried a cascade bouquet of
white roses and white carnations
Her only Jewelry was necklace and
earrings of pearts. the gift of the
groom.
Miss Wilma Tanner, of Lawtons
was the maid-of-honor, wearing a
dress of blue lace with floor-length
full skirt and arm bouquet of pink
roses. Mrs Eugene Mandaville. of
Gasport, Mrs. Newton Maenhout.
of Hop Bottom. Pa,, and Miss Janet
Logan, of LeRoy. were the bridesmaids
Mrs. Mandaville wore a
dress of pint net with floor length,
full skirt and matching veil Mrs.
Maenhout's dress was of aqua silk
marquisette Miss Logan wore yellow
nylonette,
Lois France, of Sinclairville, wa
the flower girl. Wayne Bowers, of
Gaport was the ring bearer, Roger
Seward, of Gasport, brother of the
groom, acted as best man and the
ushers were Donald Bowers, of
South Portland, Me., brother of the
bride; John Stockton, of Lockport,
cousin of the bride; Eugene Manda-
ville, of Gasport, brother-in-law of
the groom, and George Meade, of
Adrian Mich, an uncle of the groom.
The bride's mother wore a costume
of black and white bernberg crepe
and the mother of the groom wore
a coral dress and accessories.
Following the ceremony a recep-
tion for 150 guests was held in the
church parlors. A buffet luncheon
was served. Assisting were Miss
Barbara Olsen and Miss Natalie
Walters, of Sinclairvlle, and Miss
Geraldine Mang and Miss Dorothy
Kaltenborn, of Barker.
The happy couple left by motor
for a tour of Canada and the mid-
west, after which they will be at
home at Barter for the summer.
Pre-nuptial events included a
smorgasbord and variety shower at
the Cassedaga Country Club given
by the Cassedaga Valley Central
school Junior and senior high faculty,
a buffet supper and silver shower,
a: the Cassedaga Country club,
given by the elementary teachers of
the Cavtedaga Valley Central school:
a variety shower. by the Cassedaga
Valley Central School Girls' chorua:
a dinner and ltnen shower by the
Oirl Scout Executive committee of
Cajwedaga a dinner and crystal
shower by the Cassedaga Ladies '
chorus: a variety shower by the
Girl Scout Mariner Troop, of Cassedaga.
and a variety shower by Mrs
Lee Seward and Mrs Eugene Man-
daville. at the home of Mrs. Seward.

The bride is a graduate of Barker
Central school and of Houghton col-
lege. The groom is a graduate of
Barkekr Central School and Shown
Business Institute Buffalo, ad is
employed in the Harrison Radiator
plant office in Lockport.
