The marriage of Miss Betty M.
Bowes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Bowes, Appleton, and John
W. Platt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Platt, also of Appleton, was solemnized
Aug. 30 at t o'clock in St.
Patrick's Church, Barker, the Rev.
Edward Roche, pastor, performing
the ceremony,
The bride, given in marriage by
her uncle, Ralph Allen, wore a gray
suit with a matching hat and black
accessories, with a corsage of red
rosebuds tied with gold ribbon. Her
attendant. Miss Luretta Johnston
of Lockport, wore a gray pin stripe
suit with. black accessories and a
corsage of red rosebuds, tied with
white. Robert Platt of Niagara
Palls was best man.
Gladioli were used in decorations
for the ceremony and at the home
of the bridegroom's parents, where
a reception to 50 guests was held.
Mrs. Bowes, mother of the bnde.
wore a blue dress with a corsage of
yellow rosebuds and Mrs. Platt, who
wore a green dress, also wore a corsage
of yellow rosebuds.
Twenty were seated at the bridal
WUsneT table, centered with a three-tiered
cake topped by a miniature bride
and groom.
The couple win make their home
with the bridegroom's parents.
Out-of-town guests were from
Barker, Lyndonvllle, Niagara Palls.
Lewiston and Lockport.
The bride was graduated from
Barker Central School. The bridegroom
served for more than two
years with the U. S. Navy, with one
year and a half spent in the Pacific
Theater.
