Clayton, Oct 17.-Rites for the
late Augustus F. Brabant, prominent
local business man, who died
suddenly at his home late Sunday
afternoon from heart trouble, were
held from St. Mary's church here
this morning.
About'75 members of Thousand
Island Council, No. 350, Knights of
Columbus, of which Mr. Brabant
was a charter member, formed a
part of the congregation. Many
out-of-twn friends were mingled
with his local friends.
High mass was sung by Rev.
Father George Racette, pastor of
the church, Rev P. J. Murphy, and
the Rt. Rev. Mgr. P. S. Gerand of
Ogdensburg.
The bearers, all prominent busi-
nes men and intimate friends of
the deceased were: W. S. Brooks,
John Bertrand, George R. Kenyon,
Robert D. Grant, all of Clayton,
and James Slack and Mr. Ayers of
Watertown.
