Miss Doris Barbara McClure,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archibald
McClure of Valley Falls, became
the bride of Richard Earl Thomas,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Rollin H.
Thomas, sr., of Albany, Saturday
in a candlelight service at 8 30 p.m.
at the Valley Falls Methodist
Church. Rev. John M. Harris, cousin
of the bridegroom's mother, officiated
at the ceremony assisted by
Rev. Lloyd C. Olson, pastor. The
church was decorated with white
roses and palms.
A program of music and the
traditional wedding marches was
played by the organist, Mrs. LeRoy
Centre.
Attending the bride were Mrs.
Charles F. White, sister of the
bride, as matron of honor; Miss
Vivian M. McClure, sister of the
bride, as maid of honor; Mrs. E.
Mason Snow, sister of the bridegroom
and Miss Shirley McClure,
another sister of the bride, as
bridesmaids.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a Victorian Gown
of ivory Duchi«s satin. Her herloom
veil of rose point lace was at
tached to a coronet of seed pearls.
She carried a white Bible with a
white orchid and a shower of lilies
of the valley. All the attendants
were attired alike in gowns with
ivory slipper satin bodices and
ivory double tulle ballerina shirts.
They had pearl Juliet caps and carried
arm bouquets of pink roses,
blue delphiniums and gypsophilia.
The flower girl, Nancy Lee White,
a niece of the bride, wore a long
ivory satin dress fashioned like the
attendants'.
Rollin H. Thomas, jr., was best
man for his brother. E. Mason
Snow of Albany, George F. Martin
of Slingerlands and C. Dixon Ashworth
of Hoosick Falls were the
ushers.
Following the ceremony a reception
was held at the McClure home.
Acting as hostesses were three
classmates of the bride: The Misses
Hazel E. Hart of New Hartford,
Norma I. Wilkins of Williamsville
and Priscilla Claflin of Burlington
Vt. Receiving the guests were the
bride's mother gowned in rose marquisette
and lace with a shoulder
bouquet of white orchids and the
bridegroom's mother in a gown of
pale pink chiffon with an old-fashioned
bouquet.
After a wedding trip by motor
through Canada, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas will reside at 7 Center
Lane, Delmar.
Mrs. Thomas, a graduate of Valley
Falls High .School and Russell
Sage College, has been on the staff
of the Albany Hospital. Mr. Thomas
is a graduate of Milne High School
and the Oswego State Normal
School and is now with Albert E.
Oliver, Inc., in Albany. He Is a
member of Delta Kappa fraternity
