- Floyd McCollum passed away April 7, 2016. Born December 16, 1928 to the late Clyde and Ruth McCollum, he is also predeceased by his wife Dolores W.(Daunce) in 2010 and his sons Jerry in 2003 and Wayne in 2008.
Floyd was a grave digger at Gate of Heaven when he was young, welder by trade at Local 129, known today as Local 22, for over 38 years until he retired in 1990, a member of Niagara County Sheriff Department Mounted Division, an Army Paratrooper, a South Wilson Fire Company member from the late 60's, Cloggers Square dancing Group and a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ransomville. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, he built his family home, he also collected Steins and he made wooden clocks, he was an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and spear fishing. Before her passing Dolores and Floyd were inseparable, they did everything together, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving him, children David P. (Brenda) McCollum of Newfane, Karen McCollum of Huston TX and Floyd McCollum of Lockport, sister in law Joann Hart of Wilson, Paul (Late Bernie) McCollum of Lewiston, Gene (Lela) McCollum of Lewiston, Marrion (Late Cudd) of Lewiston, Judy (Mike) Gomez of St. Louis, Hellen (Late Clyde) McCollum of Niagara Falls along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held Sunday April 10, 2-4& 7-9 pm at Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home 270 Young St. Wilson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday April 11 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church in Ransomville. A special thanks goes to Jo for everything she did for Floyd.
