William F. Brandis, of Franklin
Springs, died In a Utlca hospital
where he had been confined
three weeks, on Saturday afternoon.
He was born in Franklin Springs
a son of William and Harriet Hart
Brandis, August 17, 1859, and married
Alice M. Greene, also Of that
community January 6, 1885. Mr.
Brandis conducted a meat business
for 30 years and later operated
a farm. He was a member
of the Stone Presbyterian Church
and of its Men's Club.
Surviving besides his wife, are
two sons, Durward F. Brandis and
William G. Brandis, both of
Franklin Springs; two brothers,
Albert Brandis, Deansboro, and
George Brandis, of Ogden, Utah;
two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Platte,
and Mrs. Cora Angell, St. Louis,
Mo.; three grandsons, Durward H.
Brandis, Hanover, N. H., Fay W.
Brandis, Franklin Springs, and
Donald Sill, of Frankllnvllle.
The funeral was held from his
late home Tuesday afternoon. Rev.
Harold W. Wylle, pastor of the
Stone Presbyterian Church, officiated.
Bearers, were William
Nichols, Marcus Grant, Edgar
Wheeler, Frank Kirk, "Henry Miles
and George Gruman. Interment
w a s In Sunset Hill Cemetery where
Rev. H. W. Wylle conducted the
committal service.
