The Collins Center Methodist
Church was the setting for the
m a r r i a g e of Miss Doris Mae
Brauen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Brauen of Collins Center, to
Thomas Arthur Newman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Newman, of
Penhurst Dr.., on Aug. 25. The
Rev. Florence Cory of Medina per-
formed the ceremony before an altar
decorated with baskets of
white gladioli and candelabra.
Mrs. Kenyon Hicks was organist
and Miss Shirley Smith of Gowanda
sang "I Love You Truly" The
bridegroom sang "Because".
Given In marriage by her father,
the bride was in a gown of slipper
satin, fashioned on princess lines
with lace inserts, a sweetheart
neckline, and flared skirt which
terminated in a long train, edged
with matching lace. A braided
satin band, with seed pearl trimheld
her fingertip veil of net, and
she carried a bouquet of white
sweetheart roses. She wore a three
strand necklace of pearls, the gift
of the bridegroom.
Miss Esther Fischer of Buffalo,
maid "of honor, wore a gown of
yellow satin made with fitted bodice
and full net overskirt. The
bridesmaid, Miss Luetta Crawe of
Pittsburgh, Pa., wore a gown of
blue satin fashioned like that of
the honor attendant. Both wore
picture hats and mitts to match
their gowns and carried bouquets
of Pink and yellow roses tied with
satin bows.
Gerald Brauen, brother of the
bride, was best man, and Ted Newman,
brother of the bridegroom,
attended. Ushers were Daniel Brauen
and Claude Newman, J r .'
The bride's mother wore a butgandy
lace dress with black accessories,
and the mother of the bridegroom
was in navy b l u e s h e er
with white accesories. Their corsages
were of white gladioli.
A reception was given In the
church parlors.
Following a trip to the Adirondacks,
Mr. Newman and his bride
will make their home m ColHns
Center.
