Robert J. "Butch" Hickey, Jr., longtime resident of Niagara Falls, was promoted to Glory on December 9, 2014, to be with our Savior after enduring illness for many years. He was 48.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 8, 1966, a son of the late Robert J. and Polly T. (Brahm) Hickey, Sr. He attended schools in Toms River, New Jersey and moved with his wife and children to Niagara Falls in 1992.
Mr. Hickey was a Sergeant in the United States Army, served in Desert Storm and was honorably discharged in 1992.
Robert was the loving husband to Mallissa (Ray) Hickey, father of Robert (Emily) Hickey 3rd, Angelica (Chad) Knapp. Victoria (Jerome) Smith and Lionel (Lisa) Ray. He is also survived by four siblings: Bobbie (John) Hart, Judy (Michael) Dibello, Debbie (John) Guashino and Elizabeth (Stephen) Davis. He was a wonderful grandfather to nine grandchildren and was a special uncle, great uncle, faithful friend, Child of God, fishing buddy, animal lover, ultimate New York Giants fan and Sgt. Of the U.S. Army.
Friends and family may join in the Life Celebration of Butch being held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Salvation Army Tonawanda Corps, 46 Broad Street, Tonawanda, New York 14120.
