In a double ring candlelight ceremony in Salem
United Church of Christ, Miss Nancy Breitenbach became
the bride of John Frederick Staffen before an
altar adorned with vases of white pompons and chrysanthemums
and flanked with palms.
The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel of-
ficiated Oct. 25 for the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. William Breiten-
bach. 65 Highland Ave., and the
son of Mrs. Robert Kinney, Grand
Island, and John Staffen, Ton-
awanda.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a gown of white
silk taffeta with a fitted bodice
and long sleeves. Re-embroidered
Alencon lace enriched with seed
pearls and iriescent sequins
adorned a scalloped Sabrina
neckline. The bouffant skirt with
bowed-back interest ended in a
chapel train. Her finger-tip illu-
sion veil was caught to a head-
band of seed pearls and irisdecent
sequins. The bride carried a cres-
cent shaped bouquet of white fugi
mums with accents of yellow
sweetheart roses and ivy. Yellow
rosebuds were tied on shower rib-
bon.
Miss Sally Breitenbach was
maid of honor for her sister. Ma-
tron of honor was Mrs. Kennard
Stryker, also a sister of the bride.
Oher attendants were Mrs.. Doug-
las Threader and Miss Patricia
Staffen, cousin of the bridegroom.
All wore full-length gowns of
Jadett taffeta. Empire styled bod-
ices accented the gowns and a
bowed back drew interest to the
bouffant skirts. Theh attendants
wore headpieces of Jadett taffeta
fashioned in a double bow.
A crescent bouqueet of white fugi
mums with yellow and bronze
pompons and croton leaves com-
plemented the maid of honor's out-
fit. The matron of honor carried
yellowo fugi mums with yellow and
bronze pompons and croton leaves
and the bridesmaids carried
bronze fugi mums with yellow
and bronze pompon and croton leaves.
The best man was Robert Wal-
ter and ushers were Kennard
Stryker, brother in law of the
bride, Robert Horvth annd Doug-
las Threader.
The bride's mother was attired
in a sapphire blue crepe sheath
dress trimmed with sapphire blue
satin. Her hat of matching blue
feathers and black accessories en-
hanced her outfit. She wore a
corsage of yellow roses and white
pompons.
The mother of the groom wore
a Jadett cotton brocaded dress
with Jadett accessories and a corsage
identical to that of #ie mother
of the bride.
The four grandmothers of t h e
couple wore corsages of honey-
gold roses and white pompons.
A wedding reception for 300
guests followed the ceremony at
the American Legion Hall,, Ton-
awanda. The bride's table was
decorated with a five-tieered wed-
ding cake, candles and an array
of the attendants' bouquets.
Guests attended fom Sarassota,
Fla., Toronto and Gasport.
For her going away outfit the
bride chose a paisley print suit en-
hanced by a blue feathered hat
and black patent leather accesso-
ries. After a tour through the
southern states and a vacation in
Miami, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Staffen
will be at home at 456 Adam St.
Pre-nuptial parties honoring the
bride were given by Mrs. Glenn
Staffen, Mrs. Douglas Threader,
Mrs Robert Kinney, and the of-
fice girls of Spaulding Fibre Com-
pany.
Mr. and Mrs.. Kennard Stryker
entertained the bridal party at a
rehearsal party in their home.
