Margaret Lorraine Brierley, 22
years old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jonathan Brierley, 203 Seventieth
street, died In Mount St. Mary's
hospital at 8:30 o'clock list night.
She had been 111 since March when
she was forced to retire from teaching
at Lockport school No. 3.
Born In Niagara Falls. Miss Brierley
had lived here all her life. She
was an honor student at the Niagara
Falls high school, where she
graduated in 1936. She recevied her
degree from the Buffalo State
Teachers college last year after a
brilliant college career during which
she attained a high place in scholastic
and social activities. She was
a member of Phi Delta Theta, national
educational sorority; coauthor
of her class song and a leaded
ln other college activities.
She taught at the Lockport school
from last September until March.
She underwent an operation In
Mount St. Mary's hospital in April
and several weeks later returned
home. She was admitted to the
hospital again yesterday morning.
Besides her parents, she Is survived
by a brother and sister, Jack
Brierley and Mrs. C. A. Bennett.
Funeral services will be held at
the family home at 2 p. m. Thursday
with the Rev. Dr. Philip W.
Mosher officiating. Burial will be
In Riverdale cemetery.
