herself a former resident of Mount
Morris was married "to Thomas
Aloysius Briody, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas P. Briody of Olean. Thursday
morning, Nov. 20, a t St. Mary oS.

The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Edward J.
Rengel, VP,' pastor, performed the
ceremony at an altar adorned with
seasonal flowers. Serving a s altar
boys for the occasion were the bridegroom's
nephews, George Vossler of
Eggertsville and James Burroughs of
O l e a n .
Given, in marriage by her fanner,
the bride was charming in her (twopiece
costume of thrush brown crepe
with long fitted sleeves. With this
she selected a small felt halo, hat in
shade of gold, from which fell a
brown veil edged in lace. Her accessories
were in matching blue with her
gown and her only ornament was a
strand of pearls*. She wore a corsage
of orchids and white sweet peas.
•Miss Esther.Canada of Olean was
her sister's bridesmaid and she, .too,
was lovely in a softly shirred1 gown
of reveree green crepe of peplum
fashion with small brown hat and
accessories in blending tone with her
hat. Her flowers, were a corsage of
pink sweet peas.
John Briody,.also of Olean, brother
of the bridegroom, was best man.
The bride's mother selected a gown
of .black- plum crepe trimmed with
steel beads, with accessories in black",
and her flowers .were'a. corsage of
gardenias, while the bridegroom's
mother chose a gown of black crepe,
lace trimmed, with accessories in
black, and she wore a corsage of
violets.
T h e wedding, party was later served
breakfast at Hotel Stratton.
where tables had been arranged in a
white motif.. Centering the bridal
table was the traditional wedding
cake surrounded by white pom poms.
After a brief wedding trip, the
couple will, reside on South Ninth
street, Olean. The bride is a graduate
of Olean High School and is a
member of the office staff-of the
Olean Times^-Herald. Mr. Briody
attended Olean High School and
finished at St. Bonaventure College.
He is employed by. Clark Brothers
Company, Olean. .
