- Carmen M. Cipolla, 69, of Sanborn, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Casper and Jennie (Rizzuto) Cipolla.
Carmen graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Niagara University. On April 22, 1978, he married his beloved wife, Virginia (Lizardo) Cipolla at the Assembly of God Church in Lewiston, NY.
Carmen was employed for 37 years as the Director of Operations for Adelphia and Time Warner Cable in Buffalo, NY. He was also a retired volunteer firefighter with the Sanborn Fire Company.
Carmen was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church where he also served on the school board. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed watching sports. Carmen was proud of his Italian Heritage and was a longtime member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society. Above all, Carmen enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, Carmen is survived by his daughter, Vanessa (Anthony) Alaimo; his grandchildren, Alfonzo and Carmella Alaimo; his siblings, Joseph (Loretta) Cipolla and Joanna (Kenneth) Krawczyk; his father-in-law, Roeth (late Rev. Dorothy) Lizardo, and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Lizardo, Mary (Jeffrey) Ehde, Gary (Steve Achilles) Lizardo and Thomas (Barbara) Lizardo, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, April 29 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Carmen’s funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, 6630 Luther Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
