T w o women, one a Niagara
Falls resident, and t h e other a
resident of Colonial Village,
are dead and another Niagara
F a l l s woman is in critical cond
i t i o n in DeGraff Memorial

today as the result of a coll
i s i on b e t w e e n a car and a
trailer truck on the Grand
I s l a n d Express h i g h w a y , near
W h i t e h a v e n road, last evening.
Fatally injured in the accident
were Mrs. Nora Snyder, 45, of 4415
Lewiston road, and Mrs. Dorothy
Ashby, 40, of Kline road, Colonial
Village.
In the North Tonawanda hospital
is Mrs. Naomi Donahue, 34, of 4411
Lewiston road, driver of the car involved
in the accident.
Falls Truck Driver Unhurt
The three women, all riding in the
Donahue car, were returning from
Buffalo, where Mrs. Donahue operates
the s u t l e r Slenderizing salon
in Hotel Statler, at the time of the
accident.
The truck Involved was driven by
Roy E. Chapman, 43, of 2946 Pierce
avenue, a driver for the Barrone
Trucking company, Fredonia. He was
uninjured.
Mrs. Ashby died in an ambulance,
en route to DeGraff hospital, of a
crushed chest and punctured lung
and Mrs. Snyder died, shortly after
being admitted to the hospital, of
shock, internal injuries and a compound
fracture of the leg.
Mrs. Donahue suffered multiple
contusions, possible internal injuries
and shock. It was reported at the
hospital that she had a "poor" night.
Describes Aecident
Chapman told Lt. Anselm B.
Carroll and Deputy Charles Wnsmund.
of the Erie county sheriff's
office, who investigated, that the
Donahue car, traveling north, attempted
to pass two other cars and
that apparently, when she saw him
and was unable to get back into the
driving lane, Mrs. Donahue swerved
her car sharply to the left and was
hit by the truck, traveling south
on the highway.
A native of Hamilton. N. B., Mrs.
Snyder had resided In Niagara Falls
for the last 30 years. For six years
before coming to this city she resided
In Niagara Falls. Ont.
Surviving are her husband. Paul,
a son, Paul, Jr.. and a' daughter,
Norlnne. this city; her mother, Mrs.
Anne Anderson, Ft. Bennlng, Oa ;
three brothers, Leonard Anderson,
St. Catharines, Ont.: Walter, Niagara
Falls, Ont., and Floyd. Alaska,
and three sisters. Mrs. Orace Cade.
Niagara Falls, Ont.. Mrs. Florence
Harris. Ft. Bennlng. and Mrs.
Oeorglanna 8tewart. Oil City, Pa.

A native of this city. Mrs. Ash-
. by attended public schools here and
! graduated from Niagara Falls high
school.
She Is survived by her husband.

Colonial Village; two sisters, Mrs.
Myrna Hosfeld. Pendleton, and Mrs
Marjorle Bowie, this city, and one
brother, Harold Brooks, this city.
