Joan attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and graduated from Emerson College in Boston, established an early career in merchandising, and later transitioned to teaching home economics in Williamsville, before finding the perfect career match in her work with Artpark. In recent years she enjoyed living part-time with her grandchildren in California and volunteering at various clothing and food banks in Lockport.
Her body was donated to the University of Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program. Her family will host a celebration of her life this summer. Donations may be made in Joan's memory to Brothers Keeper Outreach at First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust Street in Lockport.
