WELLSVILLE -Alwin H Buchholz,
67, formerly of Wellsville and Hallsport,
died Sunday (July 24, 1994) in Charles
Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport
He was born July 17, 1927 in Alfred
to Harry and Florence Fanton Buchholz
October 26, 1948. in Wert Ger-
9 many, he married Loni Krinke, who
died March2l, 1979
He attended the Hallsport School
and Wellsville High School and was a
veteran of World War II, serving with
the U S Army in the European Theater
of Operations A 25 year employee of
Dresser-Rand Corp in Wellsville he
worked as a machinist, a fireman and a
timekeeper He retired in 1977
He was a member of the Wellsville
Moose Lodge #601 and the Morrison
Hayes Post 702 American Legion in
Wellsville He was a past president of
the Allentown Volunteer Fire Depart
ment and a life member of the Allegany
County Fireman's Association
Surviving in addition to his mothar
of Hauaport are three sons. Warren A.
Buchholz. Edmund H Buchholz and
Neil M. Buchholz. all of Wellsville, 13
grandchildren; one great-granddaughter;
seven brothers. Erwin Buchholz of
Hallsport, Mark Buchholz of Wellsville,
Earl Buchholz of Wellsville, Richard
Buchholz of Raw, Pa, Oscar Buchholz
of North Tonawanda, Virgil Buchholz of
Castalia. Ohio and Galen Buchholz of
Wellsville, two sisters, Jane Kernen of
Lindlay and Joyce Arbogast of
Wellsville and several nieces and
nephews
Ha was predeceased by a brother,
Leonard (Jim) Buchholz.
Visitation was held from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the J.W. Embeer
Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville Funeral
services with military honors
ware held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the
funeral home. Ralph Eastlack, executive
director of the Allegany County
Youth for Christ, officiated. Burial was
in Stannarda Cemetery
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance
Corps.
