Married Saturday at 6 in
a candlelight ceremony at
the Warrens Corners United
Methodist Church were Jean
Marie Kanehl and Roger A.
Nagel, both of Lockport.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce L.
Kanehl, 5475 Ridge Rd., and
the groom the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Lavern E. Nagel,
4296 Lake Ave.
The Rev. Douglas F.
Spencer performed the
double - ' ring ceremony
before an altar of white,
y e l l o w and orange
chrysanthemums and
c a n d e l a b r a . Candles
adorned each window of the
sanctuary.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride selected a
gown of chantilly lace with
a round, low neckline,
lantern sleeves and a softly
gathered skirt. The neck
and bodice were trimmed
with a pleated 'lace and
medallion trim.
The elbow length veil of
illusion was attached to a
band adorned with pearls
and tiny strands of
i r r i d e s c e n t beads. She
completed her outfit with a
drop pearl necklace, a gift
of the groom.
The bridal bouquet was a
semi - cascade of white
daisies, white pompons and
stephanotis with a moss
green velvet ribbon.
Beth L. Kanehl was honor
attendant for her sister in
a gown styled similarly to
the bride's but in almond
green crepe with bright
orange, yellow and green
floral trim at the waistline.
She carried a bouquet of
y e l l o w carnations, butterscotch
daisies, apricot
pompons and gypsophila
tied with orange velvet
streamers.

SKIERS DECORATE - Witches and pumpkins for the Ski Club of Lockport's
Halloween Party were made Wednesday evening when committee members
met at the home of Miss Karen Steele, right. Helping with decorations
for the Saturday evening party are Miss Nancy Sutter and Frank Kydd.
Halloween Party Kicks Off
SCOL Membership Drive
A Mystery Party is
planned by the Ski Club of
Lockport Saturday evening
when SCOL holds it annual
Halloween party and kicks
off its membership drive.
Miss Karen Steele,
chairman, announces that
this year's event is more
than just a party, it is a
mystery party with many
activities planned.
Members and all interested
persons are asked
to meet at the Screwball
Club on Niagara Street at
7:30 p.m. and all will
proceed from there to the
mystery place.
Those attending are asked
to wear costumes and dress
warmly. Directions will be
left at the Screwball Club
for latecomers.
There will be awards for
costumes in three different
categories: most original,
funniest and best. Prizes,
g a m e s , refreshments,
dancing and a surprise at
midnight are part of the
festivities.
The newly elected SCOL
Ski Queen, who will be
c h o s e n at the club's
b u s i n e s s meeting Wednesday,
will be honored at
the party.
SCOL's candidates for Ski
Queen 1973 are Miss Micky
White of Buffalo, Miss Gail
Duscher of Pendleton, Miss
Nancy Bartus of Lockport
and Miss Nancy Sutter of
Swormville. All are active
SCOL members.
In beginning its membership
drive, Miss Steele
notes that both membership
in SCOL and the party are
open to any interested
person 18 years and over.
Troop 37
Investiture
At the Tuesday meeting
of Girl Scout Troop 37, a
candlelight investitute was
held for Molly Bernard,
Barbra Burgess and Mrs.
Richard Forsey.
Receiving their trefoil
Girl Scout pins were Sherri
Ceravalo, Paula Garlock,

McArthur, Judy Mellethien,

troop, were welcomed.
Friday members of the
troop will have a campout
weekend. Troop leader is
Mrs. John Hartmann.
Barrow County, Georgia, was
named for David C. Barrow,
chancellor of the University of
Georgia.
S t . Augustine's R.C.
Church, Clarence Center,
was the setting for the
marriage Sept. 30 of
Margaret Ann Martin and
Daniel Brian Green. The
Rev. Noel N. Schreck officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. Joleen Martin, 3491
Murphy Rd., Newfane and
David Martin of 2667 Grace
A v e n u e , Newfane. Mr.
Green is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. V. W. Green of
Clarence Center.
Baskets of yellow and
white gladioli decorated the
altar.
Escorted by her father,
the bride wore a floor
length gown of venise lace
over matching taffeta and
highlighted by an empire
bodice and long lace
sleeves.
A Camelot cap with
F r e n c h illusion veiling
featured a chapel train.
The bridal bouquet was of
white carnations and yellow
gladioli.
Miss Vicki Martin, sister
of the bride, designed and
made the bridal gown. She
also was honor attendant
attired in a hot pink multi
- print gown with empire
waist and carrying a
colonial bouquet of fall
flowers.
Miss Judy Wick of Lockport
and Mrs. Judi Green
of Clarence were similarly
attired as was Miss Danice
Smith, cousin of the bride
and flower girl. Jeffrey
Sheehan, Olcott, was ring
bearer.
John Green served as best
man with Neil and William
Green, brothers of the
groom, as ushers.
Mrs. Eichinger was
organist.
Following a reception at
the Knights of Columbus,
Lockport, the couple left for
a honeymoon hi Pennsylvania.
They are residing
at 10623 Main Street,
Clarence.
Society Hears
About Winter
Timothy Sargent were attired
in dresses styled
similarly to the matron of
honor but in tango orange.
Patricia Parete, niece of
the groom, wore a gown of
almond green silk organza
over taffeta and carried a
miniature bouquet idential
to the bridesmaids.
Jerome A. Bucolo, cousin
of the groom, was best man
with Sandy A. Torrier, also
a cousin, and Fredrick L.
Kanehl, brother of the
bride, as ushers.
Mrs. William Saunders,
soloist, sang "We've Only
Just Begun" and "Wedding
Song" with Mrs. William
Smith as organist.
A buffet supper reception
was held at the Wrights
C o r n e r s Fire Hail.
Following a honeymoon in
New England, the c o u p le
will reside at 4350 Lake
Ave.
The bride is an alumna
of Newfane Central School
and Continental Beauty
School. Her husband is a
graduate of Newfane
Central School and served
with the Naval Reserves.
They both are employed at
Harrison Radiator Div.,
General Motors Corp.
