JOSEPH F. BUFFONE
March 9, 1928 - Nov. 5, 2006
Joseph F. "Buff" Buffone, a retired beer salesman who served in the Marines just after World War II, died Sunday in his home. He was 78.
Born on March 9, 1928 in Niagara Falls, he was the son of late Pasquale and Clara (Sdao) Buffone.
On July 25, 1969, he married Rosalie D. (LaBarber) Buffone in Lewiston, New York.
Mr. Buffone was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools.
He served in the Marine Corps from January 10, 1946 until his honorable discharge on October 24, 1947.
Mr. Buffone worked at various factories in Niagara Falls until he became a beer salesman, his career for 38 years. He worked for Iroquois Distributors in Niagara Falls and then became the warehouse manager of Gorge Distributors in Niagara Falls. He retired from Try-It North Distributors in Sanborn in 1990.
Mr. Buffone was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a member of the Teamsters and Nick's Como Gourmet Club in Niagara Falls.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, he is survived by two sons, Bruce Campbell of Jacksonville, FL and Mark Campbell of Fairfield, CT; one brother, Frank (late June) Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY; and two sisters, Frances Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY and Margaret (Nash) Ognibene of the Town of Niagara, NY; his brother-in-law, Lawrence (Sarah) LaBarber of Niagara Falls, NY; and two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Isabel Hoffman, and Mary Ann (Joseph of Niagara Falls, NY) Figurilli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave.
Entombment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY with Military Honors.
