- Leon A. Lonneville, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 with his family by his side. He was 60. He was born in Niagara Falls on September 2, 1956, a son of the late Leon A. and Violet R. (Pettit) Lonneville, Sr.
Leon attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School. He entered the United States Army in 1975 and proudly served as a Sharpshooter for Company C, 2nd Battalion, 58th Infantry in the 2nd Armored Division until his Honorable Discharge in 1979.
Leon then worked as a bus driver and mechanic for the N.F.T.A. and the Niagara-Wheatfield School District. He was an avid Buffalo Bills, Sabres and NASCAR fan and enjoyed his time with his family.
He is survived by his son David Lee Lonneville of Fort Benning, Georgia, three sisters, Maureen (Louie) Schofield of Wheatfield, Kathleen (Rich) Ross of Niagara Falls, Darlene Pettit of Lakeland, Florida and two brothers, Michael (Dawn) Lonneville of Rushford, New York and Jerry (Michelle) Lonneville of Penn Yan, New York.
There will be no prior visitation and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
