- Life Story
James E. Hosie, 56, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on January 28, 2023 at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. Born on June 22, 1966 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Robert and Patricia (nee Toni) Hosie.
Jimmy graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1985. For 35 years, he was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation, where he retired as a highway maintenance supervisor 2. Jimmy was a member and communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, where he attended the St. Leo worship site. He was also affiliated with the Niagara Falls Ancient Order of Hibernians, the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club and formerly served as a firefighter and EMT for the Town of Niagara Active Hose Fire Company. Jimmy enjoyed playing guitar and loved music. In his younger years, he was a part of the band, ‘Infinity End.’
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is survived by a brother, Daniel (Paulette Rinker) Hosie; sister, Jennifer Hosie; niece, Ciara (Nicholas Hicks) Jones; nephew, Mitchell Rinker and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Calin and a nephew, David Rinker, II.
The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, from 3-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Jimmy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Parish, St. Leo Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Joseph G. Hubbert, C.M., Ph.D serving as celebrant. Friends invited. Everyone assemble at the church. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Town of Niagara Active Hose Fire Company and/or Niagara Hospice. Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family.
