- Thomas J. Vaccarella, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was 73. He was born in Niagara Falls on August 18, 1945, a son of the late Peter and Vernetta (Pinizzotto) Vaccarella.
He attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School and then Erie County Technical Institute. Tom served his country proudly in the United States Air Force Reserves and worked as an Architectural Designer for Cannon Design for over 42 years until his retirement.
Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching sports on television. He was also a Buffalo Bills and Ohio State Football fan but his greatest joy was his time with his family.
He is survived by three children: Thomas A. (Karen) Vaccarella, Richard Vaccarella and Joseph P. (Rebecca Williams) Vaccarella. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Jacqueline, Alexis, Olivia, Joseph and Austin, one great-grandchild: Noah, two siblings: Vincenette (late Richard) Renaud and Peter (Marilyn) Vaccarella, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 24 at 10 A.M. Burial will be private in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
