- Champion Archer Dies at 65 Years
Frank Horack, 65, of Nash Road, Town of Wheatfield, a prominent Western New York archer for 30 years, died Saturday night at De Graff Memorial hospital after a short illness. He was a holder of the New York state archery Championship for several years; He held the Eastern United States Archery championship two years in a row. Mr. Horack was a tool and die maker for Spaulding Fiber corporation, was born in Vienna, Austria, January 7, 1888, He came. to this country in 1916. He became a naturalized citizen shortly afterward. During World War I he served with the Third Infantry Division. He had been a Niagara county resident for 36 years. Mr. Horack was a member of American Legion Post 264. The Buffalo Archery club and the Adams Fire company, Nashville. He is survived by his wife, Augusta; a son, Robert F., and two grandchildren. Funeral services, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow at the Fretthold Funeral home, 1241 Oliver street. Burial will be in St. John's Evangelical cemetery.
