Obituary: A well-known and esteemed resident of Clifford and vicinity,
Frederick John Kolpin passed away Tuesday eveinig November 19, at his home near
the village. He had been ill for ten days following a severe heart seizure. He
was born in Carrick township near Walkerton 53 years ago, a son of the late Mr.
& Mrs. Christopher Kolpin (Elizabeth Alvort). He was married to Emma Kreuzerof
Normanby 25 years ago and they remained in Carrick for a few years, then moved
to a farm adjoining the village where they spent seven years before going to
Kitchener. After a sojourn there of eight years, they returned to the farm five
years ago, where he died.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Edna of Kitchener and one son
at home; also two brothers, Charles of Saskatoon, SK, and Chris of Kitchener,
and one sister, Annie (Mrs. August Kleist) of Laird, SK. The funeral was held
on Friday afternoon with a short service at the house followed by a service in
St. John's Lutheran Church of which the deceased was a farithful member. Rev.
W. E. Biecenthal conducted the services. Interment took place in Clifford
cemetery. Pall bearers were Messrs. Wm. Yendt, C.V. Koehler, Wm. Runge, Erhardt
Hill, D. Hollinger and Henry Koehler.
