- Linda Lee Soos (Zastrow) age 75, of North Tonawanda, on December 29, 2022, angels took her to heavenly home following a five-year courageous battle with cancer. Linda, together with her husband Lawrence, owned and operated Soos’ Oliver St. Café for 38 years. She was the founder of Oliver Street Community Pride, where she spent many hours applying for grants and raising money for signage, planters, and benches along the length of Oliver St. She also initiated the Pony’s on Parade which line Oliver St. She participated in and contributed to the “Glory Be to Kids” softball tournament. She was a member of the Pierogi Ladies at O.L.C. church. In her spare time, she knitted hats, mittens, and scarves for the less fortunate children of the Black Rock area through the Boys and Girls Club. She did all these things while raising two sons. Linda was an unbelievably giving person. Beloved wife of Lawrence Soos, who was a former mayor of North Tonawanda. Dear mother of J. C. Jufer and Michael Jufer. Sister of Connie (Jim) Lykins, Valerie (late Dan) Drotter, Kim Zastrow, Ronald Zastrow, and the late Eleanor Hanes. Sister-in-law of David Hanes, aunt of many nieces and nephews. No prior visitation plans for a Celebration of Life will be announced this summer. If so desired memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Niagara County S.P.C.A.
