- Lorraine A. (Nevison) Coffey, lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, 2023 at her home. She was born in Niagara Falls on June 22, 1955, a daughter of the late Roger A. and Shirley A. (McKenzie) Nevison.
She attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School and then attended Niagara County Community College. After college Lorraine worked at the New York Telephone Company, Savers Mart and the Clarkson House and for the past 24 years she was the Senior Account Clerk at the Niagara Falls Police Department, where she was still employed. She married Vaden B. Coffey in 1978 and they remained happily married for 39 years until his passing in 2017.
Lorraine loved spending time with her longtime childhood friend Robin Lundy. From family vacations, girls trips, camping and every major life event in between, they did it together. Lorraine’s greatest joy and accomplishment above all else was being a mother and grandmother. She was her children’s greatest cheerleader until the very end. Without a doubt, she was the most loving, compassionate soul anyone had the pleasure to know. She will be eternally missed.
She is survived by two children: Vaden (Melissa Tierney) Coffey and Jennifer (Dee) Langenfeld and 4 grandchildren: Bradley, Peyton, Emma and Avery and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two siblings, Sharon Nevison-Rybarczyk and Roger Nevison.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Friday from 3 to 8 P.M. where services will be held at 8 P.M. immediately following the visitation. Burial will be private.
