- Zeiger, Daniel, was born in Germany in 1845, a son of Louis Zeiger, who immigrated with his family to America in 1848. settling at Niagara Falls, N. Y. Daniel Zeiger was educated in the public schools at Niagara Falls, and worked on his father's farm until eighteen years of age, when he removed to Buffalo to learn the carpenter's trade, and later to La Salle. In 1885 he returned to Niagara Falls and is still engaged at his trade, hesides being proprietor of a grocery and provision store, which he established in 1887. Mr. Zeiger was elected supervisor of the Third ward of the city of Niagara Falls in 1896, and is a member of the A. O. U. W. In 1871 he married Frederica Chormann.

At 2:30 o'clock this afternoon the
funeral of the late Daniel Zeiger was
held from the family home No. 1625 .Main
Street and later from the German
Zion's Lutheran Church. There was
a large attendance of mourners at
the home and at the chinch to pay
their last tribute of respect to their
dead friend and sympathy to the surviving
family and relatives. Members
of Carpenters and Joiners' Union; and
International Lodge No. 6 A. O: U. W.
of which the'deceased was a member
ittended and the Council of the German-
Zion's Lutheran church on which
the deceased had served for 32 years
attended in a body
The services at the church were
beautiful and Impressive and were
condueted by the pastor, Lev. F. R.
Hoffmann. The floral tribute was largy
and beautiful and the interment was
made in Oakwood cemetery.
• The bearers were Messrs. Adam Obenhack,
John Schumacher, Henry Durk.
