The wedding of Miss Betty Brvd
ges. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
H. Brydges. Lynchburg. Va.,
formerly of this city to Mr. Harry
H. Straus, Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry H. Straus, Ashville, N.
C, took place Easter Monday at
4:80 o'clock in the Holy Cross
Catholic church. Lynchburg, with
the Rev. William J. Meredith offi-
elating.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore white marquisette
over taffeta. The tight bodice,
which buttoned down the back with
tiny self-covered buttons, had a
round neckline and long sleeves
pointed over the hands. A deep
Chantllly lace bertha fell In an
off-shoulder effect and the full
skirt formed a long train. Her
veil of Imported Illusion was held
in place by a halo of Chantllly lace
caught with orange blossoms and
fell the full length of the train.
She carried a cascade 'hower bouquet
of lillies-of-the-valley, steph-
antls and lavender orchids.
Mrs. Raymond Ryan, this city,
sister of the bride, was matron on
honor. Mrs. Roger King, sister of:
the bridegroom, Mrs. Richard:
Brydges, Miss Loretta Kercher and
Miss Elaine Libbey were bridesmaids.
Cathy King was flower girl
and Master Thomas King and
James Brydges, Jr., were the ring
bearers.
Mr. Roger J. King, was best
man: The ushers were Senator
Earl W. Brydges, Wilson, and
Messrs. James Brydges, Richard
Brydges, brothers of the bride, and
Messrs. Carl Baumen. Pat McKin-
sey, Stan Gruner and Lawrence
Widman.
The wedding reception was held
at the Boonsboro Country club im
mediately after the ceremony. After
a trip to Bermuda, Mr. and Mrs.
Straus, Jr., will reside in Ashville,
N.C.
