James W. Mack, 76, of 78th Street, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Mt. St. Marys Hospital. Mr. Mack was born December 16, 1931 in Niagara Falls, the son of James and Marie Elizabeth (Rivers) Mack.He attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1949. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1951 and served until 1955. He worked in construction in West Virginia prior to joining Local Labors Union 91 in 1959. He was employed as a foreman until his retirement in 1994. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed golf, bowling and traveling and watching the Bills and the Sabres and basketball and football games. He was a member of the American Legion LaSalle Post 1142.He is survived by his former wife, Patricia (Tedesco) Mack; his wife, Beverly (Sell) Mack; two sons, Ronald S. (Lynn) Mack of Niagara Falls and Michael J. (Lisa) Mack of Round Rock, TX; a daughter, Gail P. (David) Kephart of Sanborn; two sisters, Lorraine (late John) Paonessa of Niagara Falls and Beverly J. (Rodney) Kcuik of Lexington, NC; a brother, Robert F. (Nancy) Mack of Niagara Falls; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ronald and Donald Mack.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace, 1065 Military Road. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
