BUFFALO — Wilfred W. "Bill" Becker, of Sanborn, NY, was called to his heavenly home, on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Buffalo General Hospital. He born in North Tonawanda, NY, on July 28, 1933, the son of the late John W. and Lillian (Werth) Becker.
Bill graduated from North Tonawanda High School. He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Kimmins Construction Company and later became a mechanic with Maerten's Motor Service in North Tonawanda, for over 30 years, before retiring in 1998.
Bill was a former member of Friendens United Church of Christ. He will be remembered as always willing to help his neighbors whenever the need arrived.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clarice (Ferchen) Becker; three daughters, Barbara (Gregg) Gross of Sylva, NC, Diane (Gary) Marshall of Sanborn and Cathy (Kevin) Freiert of Salem, CT; five grandchildren, Derek (Julia) Robinson, Heather (Mike) McCullen, Jamie Freiert, Amber and Taylor Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Matthew Robinson; one sister, Arline Parkhill; a sister- in-law, Marie Becker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John W. "Jack", Robert, Jean and Myra Becker.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the Community Bible Church Building Fund.
