74, of Springfield died Tuesday at St. John's Hospital. He was born April 23, 1924, in Springfield, the son of Charles and Helen Leppin Haseley. He married Eleanor E. DeYoung in Springfield in 1947. Mr. Haseley owned and operated Carl Haseley Repairs before his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having earned three Overseas Service Bars, the American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, as well as the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, VFW Post 755 and a lifetime member of the DAV. Survivors: wife, Eleanor E.; a son, Russell Haseley of Springfield; two daughters, Cherie Tichacek of St. Louis and Barbra Speck of Springfield; seven grandchildren; a sister, Irma Bomke of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11 A.M. Friday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Dr. Wayne Hoffman officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery. Bisch and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
