Gustav N. Pfohl, 88, of Upper Mountain Road and formerly of Saunders Settlement Road, died Wednesday (April 22, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. A native of Wheatfield, Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore, where he had served on various committees and as president, elder and trustee. He worked for 10 years at the former Sales Book County, now Moore Business Forms, and then for 32 years as a stationary engineer at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls until he retired in 1974. Pfohl was a member of the Sanbornites Senior Citizens. His wife, Anna Mueller Pfohl, died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Lawrence of Sanborn and Walter of Pendleton; a brother, Wallace of Wheatfield; a sister, Erna Stenzel of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
