- Luick, Leonard J., was born in the town of Niagara, N. Y., July 20, 1866, a son of Jacob Luick, a prosperous farmer, now retired. He attended the public schools of Niagara county and began early in life to till the soil on his father's farm. In 1888 he established himself in the coal trade at La Salle and has followed that business ever since. October 14, 1894, he married Zora Greiner of La Salle, and they have one son, Leon. Mr. Luick is an energetic and ambitious young business man and is held in high esteem by his townsmen. He has been councilman for five years and is now filling the office of highway commissioner.

Leonard J. Luick, 73, died yesterday afternoon at the home of his son, Leon, Falls boulevard, town of Wheatfield. Born in the LaSalle section of Niagara Falls, he resided there until taking up his home with his son four years ago. He was a building contractor. Surviving are a wife, Zora, nee Greiner; two sons, Leon and Dana C., the latter a resident of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Courten of Youngstown; two brothers, Jacob and Albert, and two sisters, Mrs. Marcia Meahl and Mrs. Ella Spitzig, all of Niagara Falls. Rites will be held tomorrow at 1 oâclock from the Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam street. Rev. L. W. Drfitmeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Acadia Park.
