Melvin J. Mueller, a retired National Fuel line foreman, died Monday (Jan. 22, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was 72.
Mueller was a native of Wheatfield and had been a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bergholz and a member of its choir.
He worked for National Fuel for 31 years, retiring in 1990.
Mueller was an active member of Bergholz Fire Company and its fire police and the Bergholz German Band. He enjoyed gardening and bowling.
Mueller is survived by two daughters, Colleen and Brenda, both of North Tonawanda; a brother, Delbert of Streetman, TX; a sister, Eunice Gardener of Bergen; his stepmother, Ella of Wheatfield; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in St. James Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.
Bergholz Fire Company will conduct a memorial service at 7 P.M. Thursday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz
