T. Howard Garner, 85, who worked as a milkman for R. Milleville Dairy for 30 years, died Monday (Nov. 11, 2002) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Niagara Falls and attended area schools.
Garner was a graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science, Syracuse.
A licensed mortician, he operated Garner Funeral Home with his father for many years. He then worked as a milkman.
Garner was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for more than 50 years, serving on the church council and as treasurer and usher. In addition, he was a longtime officer of the Niagara Falls Council of Churches and served as treasurer for the American Cancer Society.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, the former Eleanor Milleville - of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Gail Lawler of Cheektowaga; a son, the Rev. Kent H. of Fairport; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in St. Paul's Church, 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Bergholz
