WHEATFIELD - Bernice (Bonnie) Camann, age 85, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on November 20, 2010 at the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility in Lockport, following a lengthy illness. She was born November 12, 1925 in the Town of Wheatfield, NY to Theodore and Evelyn (Mahl) Milleville. Bonnie attended St. James Lutheran parochial school in Bergholz, graduated from the former LaSalle Jr.-Sr. High School and was employed in a civil personal position at the former Bell Aircraft during the war. She was united in marriage to Roland E. (Joe) Camann on June 1, 1946. He entered into rest May 2, 2010.
Bonnie was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz, where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and enjoyed quilting to aid Lutheran World Relief. Bonnie was a charter member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed parading and traveling with the Bergholz German Band. Bonnie always put others first and will be remembered for her giving spirit. Her joy was her family and their time together. She was well-known for her delicious pies and homemade baked goods. Hobbies and interests included reading Amish novels and playing games with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving twin daughters, Karen (late Howard) Binkley and Maureen (Rev. Wayne) Jagow; five grandchildren, Nicole (Allen) Ganz, Rev. Andrew (Kathy) Jagow, Kim Binkley, Bethany (Michael) Moulden and Karrie (Glen) Gebhardt; four great-grandchildren, Jamie and Sarah Ganz, Lily and Claire Jagow; sister-in-law, Doris Camann and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz, on Sunday, November 28 at 3:00 PM. A private interment will take place with the family in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Arrangements were by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.
