August C. Retzlaff, 73 years old, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Frerichs, Niagara road, Bergholz. He was born in Germany and had resided in Bergholz for the past 40 years. He is survived by two sons, Theodore and Howard Retzlaff, Bergholz; three daughters, Mrs. Frerichs, Mrs. Joseph Ettl, Lakota, S. D., and Mrs. Fred
Eismann, Buffalo; 27 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, three brothers, Fred Retzlaff, Grand Haven Mich., Gustav and Edward Retzlaff Walmore, N. Y., and one sister, Mrs. Albert Wienke, Bergholz. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the late home and half an hour later at the St. Jacobs church standard time. Rev. Otto Bruss will conduct the services and burial will be in St. Jacobs cemetery.
