Store Head Dies at 76
Lockport - A retired president of a department store here, Ferdinand B. Williams, 76, of 23 Spruce St., died today (Jan. 3, 1961) at Lockport Memorial Hospital. Mr. Williams had been president of Williams Bros.vDepartment Store until his retirement about 10 years ago, He was born Sept. 15,v1884, in the town of Wheatfield,vson of the late Ferdinand A. and Lydia Williams. After education in rural schools there, Mr. Williams came to Lockport and entered the store business. He built up a general dry goods store in Main Street to a large department store. Mr. Williams was a member of Emmanuel Methodist Church and the Lockport Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lotta E. Williams; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Bergen of Williamsville and Mrs. Joseph E. Genewich, of Lockport; three sisters, Mrs. John Proefrock, of Tonawanda, Mrs. Fred Lindke, of Buffalo,and Mrs. Rudolph Milleville, of Niagara Falls, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at he Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home by Rev. Robert C. Root of Emmanuel Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.The family said donations to the heart Fund are acceptable as tributes
