Dorothy O. Pankow, 79, of Washington Street died Friday (July 19, 1996) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Anniston, Ala., the former Dorothy Cheatwood lived in Alabama until 1945, when she and her husband, Wallace A., moved to Bergholz. The couple would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary today.
Before moving to the area, Mrs. Pankow worked for the U.S. Post Office in Anniston for eight years.
Mrs. Pankow was an active crew member with Tri-Community Ambulance Service for 15 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bergholz.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a brother, Curtis "Pat" Cheatwood of White Plains, Ala.; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
A service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday in St. John Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery
