Mr. and Mrs. George C. Fritz of
332 Thompson street announce the
engagement of their daughter, Arlene,
to William Witkop, Jr., son
of Mr. and Mrs. William Witkop
of 27 Stenzel street. The wedding
will take place September 18.

A beautiful September wedding
took place Saturday afternoon,
September 18, at 4 o'clock in the
Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran
church, when Miss Arlene Fritz,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
O. Fritz, of 332 Thompson street,
became the bride of Mr. William
"Wltkop, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Witkop of 27 Stenzel
street, the Rev. H. G. Kleiner officiating
in the presence of one himdred
guests.
The altar, decorated with baskets
of gladioli and other fall
flowers, was illuminated with candelabra
containing burning tapers,
while palms, ferns and white
rushes formed the background-
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a gown of white
transparent velvet made on princess
lines with a long train. Her
veil of illusion, fashioned with a
velvet coronet, was held in place
with tiny orange blossoms at the
nape of the neck, and extended
Into a long train. She carried a
shower bouquet of gardenias,
white pom poms and gypsophila.
Matron Of Honor.
Mrs. Louis Kinzly, sister of the
bride was matron of honor, wearing
terra-cotta transparent velvet,
and her bouquet was of yellow
chrysanthemums and bronze pom
poms tied with a bronze ribbon
bow.
Miss Maude Joerg was brides-
maid, wearing hunters g r e en
transparent velvet, and her bouquet
was of yellow chrysanthemums
and yellow pom poms tied
with a yellow bow. Each wore a
hat made in Dutch style, of material
matching her dress.
Miss Marcia Lou Kinzly, niece
of the bride was flower girl, wearing
a Kate Greenaway frock of
gold moire, with bronze velvet lacings,
and she carried a small basket
of talisman roses.
Mr. Charles Till attended Mr.
Witkop as best man, and the ushers
were Mr. Fred Witkop, Mrs.
Louis F. Kinzly, of Buffalo, and
Mr. Paul Poercshke.
Wedding Supper.
The brides mother wore an Iris
blue transparent velvet gown with
black accessories, and the groom's
mother, black matelasse crepe.
Each wore a corsage of gardenias.
A wedding supper at the Buffalo
Trap and Field Club followed
the ceremony, where covers were
jtaid for eighteen, and later in the
evening a reception was given at
the home of the bride's parents.
Out of town guests were present
from Buffalo, Lockport, Kitchener,
Ont, Akron and Niagara Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Witkop have left
for a wedding trip to Boston,
Mass., Newark, N.J., and New
York and will be at home after
October 4 in 79 Walter avenue.
The bride's going away costume
was a blue tailored suit with
matching accessories.
